Sandalwood oil: is steam distilled from the coarsely powered wood and roots of Santalum album. Sandalwood is one of the oldest known materials, and it's history of use is more that 4000 years old. It has a warm woody aroma and blends well with Rose scent, Lavender, Tuberose, Clove and Cinnamon. Rose potpourris generally have Sandalwood in them as a fixative. The tea and oil, taken internally are antiseptic, tonic, and astringent (especially for the urinary system). Sandalwood is indicated wherever there is a problem in the respiratory or urinary systems. It has often been used to treat impotence and cystitis. Inhaled Sandalwood is used for bronchitis. Sandalwood incense is traditional for meditation and ritual work. Externally, Sandalwood oil is good in baths, mixed with other anti-acne oils and in salves for chapped lips and skin.
Spearmint oil: (Mentha viridas) is created by steam-distillation also. In Egypt the sweet, fragrant herb tea is offered after every meal. It is used in all kinds of products. Such as tooth powders and pastes. The oil can me applied directly to Acne and skin irritations ( it sometimes works better if blended with Tea Tree oil). If you have a headache or stomach ache fix a compress with water that has a couple of drops of Spearmint oil and apply to the affected area. Inhaled, it is a good anti-depressant. Spearmint oil relieves mental stress and fatigue.
Spruce oil - is steam-distilled from the needles and small twigs of several species: Picea marina - Black Spruce; Picea alba - White Spruce; Tsuga heterophylla; Most available is the oil of Black Spruce. Spruce oil is good in baths for arthritis and aching joints. Also it is good as a bactericide and acts as a disinfectant. As with the above two oils it is good for the respiratory system. If you have wet' asthma or bronchitis it is good as an expectorant. The fragrance also relieves anxiety and stress.
