Cover to cover, "Misadventures In The (213) is pure pleasure! The clever writing style of Dennis Hensley will make you laugh out loud as he leads his characters through mishap, mayhem and life. Packed with familiar names, believable situations, and colorful life encounters Hensley has given us a twist on a current day "Tales." This is one book I would love to see on film.

Join the adventures of Craig Clybourn, ex-cruise director as he starts his new life and career in Los Angeles. I say join because Dennis Hensley writes in such a fashion that you become part of the tapestry he creates. Craig’s college comrade and current TV "sitcom diva" friend Dandy, coerce him and a group of diverse and zany friends through one Lucille Ball type "misadventure" after another. You will have a new slant on burger-place "Playlands", koi ponds, an evening at Disney, relationships, and liaisons.

By the time I finished "Misadventures In The (213)" I felt as if I knew each character. Well to be honest I felt like I was several of them. You associate with Hensley’s characters as real not subject creations for a book because his writing feels familiar and natural. Dennis Hensley’s "Love Boat" history is apparent with his ability to build a scene. Filled with everything from the sensitive to the sardonic, no opportunity is missed as Craig, Dandy, Miles, Ulysses and Claudia make the most out of every situation. And you are glad they did!

An easy read, "Misadventures In The (213)" moves briskly while conjuring vivid images of friendship, loyalty, betrayal, love, and passion. All dealt with humor and catchy current jargon sure to weave their way into present day dialogue. Destined to be a classic of our time, culture and community. Hensley has created a storyline universal in appeal. A definite "thumbs up!"
