Lady Patra - Donny West  Wing "LeStrangle And Dance" Review

"LeStrangle And Dance" DVD Featuring:: Josh Margolis, Erin Muir, Jennifer Kelzenberg, Donny West AKA Lady Patra. Directed by: Erin Muir Written & Produced by Josh Margolis Silogram Productions Approximately 45 minutes in length.      High camp, mystery and lots of satirical humor abound in "LeStrangle And Dance". Think "Shaft" meets "Get Smart" and "Mary Hartman, Mary Hartman", with a tad of Burns and Allen for good measure. Some hot costumes, very familiar background music, and of course StoneWall Society fav Lady Patra make this gem even more genuine. You gotta see Josh Margolis shake his tail and demonstrate how to get attention. A fun watch, and one to create lots of laughs, this special award winning presentation had our audience fixed on the screen.

     The storyline revolves around a new invention by Margo. One sure to set the beauty world, (and loads of wannabe hairless guys) on end. The infomercial scenes are in the spirit of late night hawking, but done with panache. Lady Patra recreates her role as Miss Ross, yep you guessed it, royal fare here. However, all is not well, for the competition is gearing up to sabotage and to steal Margo's  new beauty-world mega winner. The plot and camp thicken, delightfully so.

     The characters are over the top and on cue for comedy and satire. Line delivery is tension filled, even Cruella DeVille would be envious of the lines and character of the lead rogues. Donny West AKA Lady Patra, (won the 2005 Pride in The Arts Favorite Film Artist for his role), delivers an outrageous performance as Miss Ross, and provides some cohesive strength to the plot. Not to mention some handy dancin' tips.  Of course the leads Josh and Sandi are tireless in their quest and bring some classic comedy stylings to the project. I can't help but be reminded of Abbott and Costello only gender changed. 

    Screenwriter and producer, Josh Margolis was recognized with the 2005 Pride In The Arts Screenwriter of The Year Award for his efforts with "LeStrangle And Dance". Written with tongue or pen in cheek, and geared for high humor. Margolis delivers fun, wit, and yes even mystery. Classic satire in the boldest sense give "LeStrangle And Dance" a truly unique style and flavor. I am not going to give away the ending, but you don't want to miss the abduction scenes and ensuing "dance". Camp classics abound here!
