Ray "MusicBear" Baker Wing |
"MusicBear" Ray "MusicBear" Baker Review By: Len Vocally and musically a strong showing by Ray "MusicBear" Baker. I would say leaning solidly on a folk foundation "MusicBear" ventures lightly into country, jazz, and soft rock-a-billy. Acoustic guitar adds to the feel and allure of Baker's contemporary style and lyrics. Catchy melodies with common themed lyrics give the selections included on |
"MusicBear" a universal understanding. Not to be confused with simple, the messages vary from love songs to introspective looks at self and life. Occasionally a faint reminiscence to Peter, Paul, and Mary style folk meet Kansas appears. Then you find yourself listening to New Orleans style acoustic jazz as in "Red Hot Fire", track number three.
Starkly differing from Baker's "DanceMusicBear" CD which we will be reviewing in the next issue, "MusicBear" has a contemporary sound which would please a wide spectrum of listeners. The CD flows and offers, entertainment, relaxation, and even rejuvenation. Also, I believe Baker would reach a wide range of fans with regard to age as well. Some songs geared more toward the mature blend well with the lighter tunes with slight touches of "Puff The magic Dragon" meets "Dust In The Wind" type sound. Make no mistake the subject matter is not restricted to any age. More the feel of youth combined with seasoned experience.
"MusicBear" contains ten regular tracks and one bonus for a total of eleven tracks of "Ray "MusicBear" Baker musical enjoyment. For more information on Ray, his music, how to get copies, and just enjoy visit his website.
