Love and Pork Chops Well, first off, I have to fess up. I was hesitant about reading a lesbian love story. As a gay male, I didn’t think that I would like it. But, Kelly set me straight (no pun intended). Kelly’s descriptive phrases and wonderful character development grabbed me right off the bat. All of her characters are four-dimensional. Why do I say 4 instead of 3? Not only can you picture them physically, but you also get to know the way that they think. Love and Pork Chops is actually the love stories of two women, Rachel and one of her best friends, Que. Rachel is an owner of a restaurant/jazz club. Our stories open up with Rachel at her club. Que, a nationally recognized cartoonist, comes in to tell Rachel all about the newest love of her life Mel, who owns a very successful art gallery. After a breakup, Que is almost forced, by her friends, to go on the two-week vacation |
that she and her ex had planned before the breakup. It reads like a fantasy come true. While there, Que meets and falls for Mel and Mel for her. But due to circumstances, Mel breaks it off at the end of the vacation. If you want more information about what happens next, buy the book.
Now, on to Rachel and Blair, an FBI agent that lives in Washington, and is home for a visit with family. Rachel and Blair have to figure things out, due to the fact of the long distance. Read the book and you will find out how they deal with the long distance relationship.
In closing, I would recommend Love and Pork Chops to anyone that likes a great love story.
