Society GLBT Artists IMRU Wing CD Review |
"I Was Wrong" IMRU Review by: Len Upbeat, popular sound, five guys, hmmmm boy band. Nope, not here. No promo convergence, brought these "Guys" together. The graphic talents of Joe Phillips bring IMRU physically to life. This is an animated band in the honored tradition of the Archies. Not virtual anything, the drive is animated. The IMRU website offers more personal introductions to the band - IMRU. The CD offers you insight as to the direction or should I say multi-directed areas this animated group can go. |
The style is slick, production top rate, and the sound is up to the challenge. There is a common similarity to five male voices, however like the animated style, gentle nuances make this sound unique. There is a suspense to some songs as in; "Do It Like This". Others like, "Take It All Back" cater to the dance crowd. "Make It All better" takes a turn into Barry White reminiscent tunes but with a definite addition of this is today, this is IMRU. The musical diversity of the band equals Phillips diverse characters. A different take on the current concept of male groups. Light, upbeat, and just good ole fashioned fun! Check out the guys at the IMRU website!
