Message from the Baton Rouge PrideFest 2001 Chair

Dear Friends,

The committee of Pridefest 2001: A Lambda Safari would like to extend our deepest sympathies to the loved ones of those lost on September 11, 2001.

In memory of the victims, and in honor of the many men and women who have selflessly worked to save lives and repair our nations wounded spirit, we will embrace a moment of silence and remembrance at Pridefest 2001: A Lambda Safari. As we join together to celebrate our Pride, let us also celebrate life. Let our celebration remind us that although we often face opposition within our borders, we enjoy the freedom to disagree, and strive to challenge the status quo to make equality for all Americans the future of our country—and that freedom will never be taken from us.

Join us on October 20, 2001 as we stand united, one community, one voice, and one hope for a future free from hatred in all its’ forms.

With Pride,

Aaron Williams, Chair
