“The Power of Not - Positive Results from Negative Affirmations”  Author: Shawn Aaron Thomas ISBN: 978-1-63192-938-0 One-hundred and twenty-four pages with Notes, and Author biography Review by: Len Rogers StoneWall Society I was surprised when Shawn Thomas shared that his new book is a self-help guide. Not because Shawn does not help, just not the usual subject for Shawn. That being said I must say that "The Power Of Not, Positive Results from Negative Affirmations" is a resource that is both helpful and entertaining. Not your basic self-help book, but then again I would not expect 'basic' from Shawn Thomas. And Shawn does not disappoint. On point, and an easy to read page turner, Shawn once again masters the written word.

I think many of us have tried the 'positive affirmation' type healing therapy. You know, 'I am fine, I am ok" self realization and repetition therapy. And this works for many, obviously. But there are those like Shawn and myself, for whom this approach does not work. Sure we say the "I am ok's" but we think afterward, "No I am not".  Thus really achieving little. Shawn shows a new way to approach. One we all can relate to and understand. Just as the title suggests we take the negatives we deal with daily and find positive affirmations about them. 

It is for many a real chore to determine what they are, how they feel, and how they see themselves. However it seems a bit more common and in some ways easier to realize what we are not. For instance 'I am not a bad person', is basic in content and gives room to grow that idea. So by determining what we know we are not, we can identify maybe a bit easier what we actually are. Much lees ego damning then making a list of all the things we feel we are, only to demolish them with second thought. 

Along with lots of ways to take this new approach to self healing, Shawn shares. And I do mean shares. Lots of insights as to who Shawn is, how he came to be person he is today, and some why's too. All make for an interesting and a very personal and inviting experience. What Shawn shares in this book are his personal insights and experiences of his life. So we know that these are tried and proven ways to help ourselves. As Shawn shares he shows us how this approach helped him make chosen improvements. This makes it a bit easier to believe and follow. Some self-help resources are all about doing things that make us uncomfortable and maybe not totally honest with ourselves. With the "Power Of Not...." Shawn has shown us a natural way to deal with and combat some negatives which we see daily. 

A fast and enjoyable read, I highly suggest. Even if you already know you are at your best, Shawn's "The Power Of Not...." opens some new doors and ways to help others help themselves. In this world of daily divisiveness, a great way to connect and make this worked a bit better. KUDOS Shawn on your imagination and unique vision.
