"Welcome To YOLANDAWORLD"
Yolanda & The Plastic Family

Review by: Len

From first glance you know this is going to be an experience. You soon realize one you will not soon forget. I could fill this article with nothing but adjectives describing the encounter. The important point is this encounter is one which you can repeat, and certainly will. Sensory reaction is achieved.

Think Manhattan Transfer meets Ziggy Stardust and they join forces with  Dr. Frank-N-Furter, Chicago, Lou Reed, and Billy Preston to fight the forces of artistic

boredom and you may be close to Yolanda & The Plastic Family. Bright, fresh, music carry lyrics laden with strong visual and emotional imagery. This is just the CD, I can only image the enhancement of seeing this group live. High energy combined with great production, excellent back up, and strong accompaniment make for an all around romping time.

The lyrics empower the music which compliment the lyrics, no struggle for dominance here the goal is clear and achieved. From the introspective "Breathe" through the insightful "Alien Love Child" the current is strong and flowing. Bits of spice, humor, revelation, and understanding are mixed with tongue in cheek example and stinging realities. The lingering echoes of "Angels" and vibrancy of "Eat Me" dance in your head long after the music stops. "Right To Surrender" is a dazzling and touching tribute to those lost by AIDS. One which validates and dignifies. I believe this group will take Transgendered entertainment to the next step. Learn all about Yolanda & The Plastic Family and their music at their website.
