Review "Godless" Robert Urban Review by: Len The music and information available about Robert Urban and his music on his website is understatedly amazing. From movie scores to complete CD's all the information is there. A good sampling of music from Robert's CD's is also available. The samples are enough to create a desire for more and a good beginning understanding of that which is Robert Urban. We begin with music Online from Urban's CD "Godless". Three samples are available; "Evanescence" A haunting instrumental which seems to combine a new age feel with some very early Pink Floyd influences. Soft, pleasing, good instrumental intrigue. |
"Photos of the Moon" A rock oriented piece with darker overtones. That steady "Urban" beat is there and distinguishable. Excellent guitar riffs and strong musical intro with possible "Yes" reminiscence lead into the soulful vocal talents so well displayed by Urban in all his forms.
"The Meat-Eaters' Song" With his personal style Robert Urban treads on cultural oppression, combined with some tongue in cheek humor. Think the Beatles meet Seals and Croft, for a some what close similarity in feel. The amusing side is there, however the message is clear and strong. As is Urban's delivery. A song which has definite after-bite.
