Gardening - Hibiscus
This is my 16 year old Hibiscus. I started this from a cutting from a plant that was in Chris's Mom's yard. It was only a little stick about 5 inches long. I have had to repot it several times over the years.
One thing that I use is Thrive. A hormone that helps in the growth of the plant. I also use different plant foods. In the dormant stages I will feed every month or so with Miracle Grow and Bloom Buster in the flowering stages every week adding Thrive to the feed/watering mixture.
Over the years it has taken some abuse. I have let it dry out a few times. This last winter it almost died due to the cold. The picture above was taken this summer. As you can see, it is doing nicely.
I have gotten several starts from it over the years. I have planted them in several different places. Living in the south, they grow quite well. One thing for the humidity of Louisiana, plants love it here.
